Been away, but back with a new face

All is quiet, ghostly quiet... a tumbleweed would blow past, but resists for fear of making too much noise.

Yes hello & thank you for stopping by. If you have been patiently waiting for the next Blog entry, I hope you did not run out of food. This Blog has been rather neglected for quite some time, but I'm pleased to say it is being fully resurrected. Yes, that's right. Try to calm yourself. This time however the blog will be wearing a rather different costume.

The Imbroglios are back.. kind of, sort of. I need to be more definite. Yes then, they are back... and should be better than ever before... hopefully maybe. Hmmm, yes.

Now that I have your full confidence for the coming Millennia, I'm sure you'll not be at all tempted to go any where else.

The Imbroglios will no longer focus on the goings on of Z-List celebrity Television programs and instead bring to you interesting, wonderful and the down right strangest of the strange of News reports from around the globe.

So strap yourself in. Ahead, warp factor 17!

BBC So... what's replaced the popular Jonathan Ross Show then?

So... now that Jonathan Ross has been suspended for 3 months for things I don't really want to go into, what is replacing his big ratings winning show in the BBC schedule?

Well... not much really. The BBC seem content with just putting a film on each week until everything blows over. Last week it was Speed which has been on about fifty times already and this week, it is Armageddon.

The BBC have really shot themselves in the foot with this one. For all his faults, Ross attracted the viewing public in their many thousands, could get the best celebrity guests and delivered an entertaining show. Now it's gone for a while and replaced with mediocrity. One waits for other possible films in the weeks to come and fears the likes of Cocoon, Honey I shrunk the Kid and Teenwolf being shown on what should be prime weekly viewing.

I think I, and many others, will be watching a different TV station for a while until the BBC are back on track. It's the 4 Poofs and a Piano, I feel sorry for.

Expect the standard of Celebrity guests on other shows to suddenly increase as they desperately find other outlets to plug their various projects.

Simon Cowell to save Christmas Top of the Pops?

There will be one less TV programme to watch this Christmas... probably. The BBC have said they will not be producing a special Top of the Pops show this year.

The music show ran for 42 years before being withdrawn in 2006. The BBC have always said previous that they would continue to make the traditional Christmas special. With increased competition from other media streams such as MTV and Youtube, it looks like they have changed their minds.

Enter X Factor head honcho, Simon Cowell,

Cowell told The Sun,

“I’ve got a suggestion for them. If they don’t want it, I’ll take it. I’m serious. They can give it to me or I will give them a bit of money. Why end the tradition? It’s like not having Christmas pudding. I don’t believe in breaking with tradition. It’ll be weird not having it there. It’s like one less present to open. I can see how it’s less popular now, with MTV and YouTube, but I always thought it would stay. I really want it back. It’s not too late for the BBC to change their minds. It would be brilliant.”

Later, with ideas to move the Top of the Pops format to ITV, Mr Cowell added,

"I would rather it came to us than just sit in the dustbin. It's been a good year for music and I think it's part of the tradition. It's not as though people aren't interested in music at the moment,"

The BBC have yet to say whether Simon Cowell has made firm any offer for the rights to the show. Hopefully he does because it would be great to see Top of The Pops back on the air and with Cowell, you can trust it will be in a safe pair of hands.
