BBC Strictly Come Dancing 2008 - Week 7 - After the Judges Scores

Here is the Strictly Come Dancing Leaderboard after the Judges scores in Week 7,

Austin Healey & Erin 36
Lisa Snowdon & Brendan 35
Tom Chambers & Camilla 34
Rachel Stevens & Vincent 32
Jodie Kidd & Ian 31
Christine Bleakley & Matt 29
Cherie Lunghi & James 26
Heather Small & Brian 23
Andrew Castle & Ola 21
John Sergeant & Kristina 20

Austin tops the leaderboard again at the half-way stage. Lisa Snowdon come back with a vengeance. An impressed Judge Craig said, "Welcome back to the Competition!"

Jodie Kidd seemed a little undermarked to me and perhaps deserved to score a bit nearer the leaders.

Cherie Lunghi is well down on where you would normally expect her and is in that traditional danger zone where you can end up in the bottom two after the Viewers vote. Surely this can't happen this time though can it? The Latin style dances are not Cherie's best. If she can survive this week, Cherie remains a significant threat in the contest.

Predictably bottom was John Sergeant, but I would be surprised if he is not saved again. The Judges seem to be quickly losing patience.

Andrew Castle's Samba was described by Judge Bruno as a Brazilian Flop and he looks destined for the bottom two dance-off. It was a brave performance by him despite dancing with an injured knee.

The elimination results are revealed Sunday night.

BBC Strictly - Week 5 - Scores after the Judges Vote

The BBC's Strictly Come Dancing competition completes its fifth week. Here are the provisional scores as the men and women compete for the first time in the same competition for survival.

Lisa Snowdon & Brendon 35
Tom Chambers & Camilla 35
Cherie Lunghi & James 34
Austin Healey & Erin 32
Rachel Stevens & Vincent 30
Jodie Kidd & Ian 30
Christina Bleakley & Matthew 30
Don Warrington & Lelia 25
Heather Small & Brian 23
Mark Foster & Hayley 17
Andrew Castle & Ola 17
John Sergeant & Kristina 16

As I expected, Lisa Snowdon improved yet again. This time she finished with an impressive 35 points and shared top place in the table with Tom Chambers. Rachel Stevens was a bit down on other weeks and shares 30 points with both Jodie and Christina from The One Show. All should be safe come Sunday.

Despite by far being the most entertaining, John Sergeant, finishes last for the first time. Quite cheekily afterwards, he quipped, the Public would keep him in, they know what they have to do. Head Judge, Len Goodman, said if he was a member of the public, John would get his vote. That is good enough for me.

The voting fan bases of both Mark Foster and Andrew Castle are probably not that great, so it looks as if they will find themselves in the dance-off when the Viewers vote is added.

BBC Strictly Come Dancing - Week 4 - Rachel Stevens

Even before the competition commenced, Rachel Stevens was the favourite of the female competitors to win this years BBC Strictly Come Dancing competition. Again, she performed almost flawlessly, but was outscored by actress Cherie Lunghi for a second time. Here is her Quickstep routine courtesey of the BBC and YouTube.

Rachel, who is a joy to watch still remains favourite of the women at 7-2 and Lunghi has gradually closed to gap and now stands at 9-2. Despite scoring higher each time, the view is that Rachel has the most scope for improvement with dance partner Vincent. In these competitions it always best not to peak too early as the viewing public always seem more supportive of people coming through or underdogs.

If Rachel is to win the sixth series however, she would need to topple both Austin Healey and Holby City Start, Tom Chambers. May she can. This years competition definitely looks between Healey, Chambers, Lunghi and Stevens.

BBC Strictly - Week 3: The Men, Jive & Tango

The scores of the Judges, Craig, Arlene, Len and Bruno are in and here is the leader board before the unpredictable viewers vote.

Austin Healey & Erin 34
Tom Chambers & Camilla 33
Don Warrington & Lilia 30
Mark Foster & Hayley 24
John Sergeant & Kristina 22
Andrew Castle & Ola 22
Gary Rhodes & Karen 18

The dances performed this week were the energetic Jive and the passionate Tango. Austin Healey and Tom Chambers were again out front with impressive displays, but man of the match without a shadow of a doubt, has to be Don Warrington. He was 100/1 to win the competition and a strong 7/4 Favourite to go out this week, but danced a fantastic Tango to give himself a great score of 30. Don should be safe from the bottom two with that.

Gary Rhodes danced a rather weak Jive which Judge Bruno commented had, "More holes than the surface of the moon.". However, Rhodes was previously saved by the viewers from the dance-off in Week 1 and it could well happen again. It could well end up as Castle verses Foster who both looked particularly awkward during their Tango performances.

All will be revealed this Sunday evening.

Jodie Kidd 20/1
